Good Relations Week 2024
Pupils from St. Teresa’s and Mountnorris Primary Schools Celebrate “Good Relations Week 2024”
This year, in order to launch our Shared Education Programme, pupils in Primary 6 and Primary 7 joined pupils from Mountnorris Primary School to participate in “Good Relations Week 2024”. This is an event which has been celebrated all over Northern Ireland from 16th to 22nd of September, with many different schools and organisations working together to create a brighter learning experience for all. The overarching theme this year is ‘OpportUNITY’, enabling us all to UNITE and be architects of change in helping build a region where every voice matters. On Monday 16th September, pupils from both schools met in Mountnorris Primary School and created cards for people living in Mountnorris village. These cards included a tea bag and the pupils created, designed and wrote a positive slogan for someone on the front of their card. Pupils, along with their teachers and Classroom Assistants, then distributed their cards around the houses in the village and had the opportunity to build relations with those in our local community. The morning finished with a snack and some free time in the village playpark. The children were greeted very positively by the local community and a fabulous day was enjoyed by all the pupils!
