The sun was shining very brightly in Tullyherron when the Sam Maguire Cup arrived to St. Teresa’s, escorted by All- Ireland Winners, Niall Grimley and Joe Mc Elroy and Armagh GAA Coaches, Fintan Burns and Aileen Mc Guinness.
All the children greeted the special visitor, Sam Maguire and their Sporting Heroes with a rapturous applause and excited cheers as they proceeded into the main school playground!
Our All-Ireland Champions, Niall and Joe, spoke to the children giving each and every child very encouraging and inspirational words of advice and also signing jerseys.
The two All-Ireland Winners also thanked St. Teresa’s for inviting them to this special occasion, for the very warm welcome they had received and also saying that it was a pleasure for them to be part of the celebrations!
Our classes were then photographed with the Sam Maguire and the All-Ireland Champions, with our Fabulous Armagh Display and Orange and White Balloon Arch being the background to the photographs!
All our families, past-pupils and members from the Tullyherron community came in huge numbers to have their photographs taken with the Armagh Players and Sam Maguire.
We also had lots of other special guests including Fr. Malachy Murphy, Mrs Maureen Toner and Mr Michael Mc Elroy.
Tuesday 24th September 2024 will live long in the memory for our whole school community when the Sam Maguire Cup and All-Ireland Champions came to celebrate with us in St. Teresa’s, Tullyherron.
A Fantastic Day was had by all on a Beautiful Sunny Day in Tullyherron. One which we will all remember for a very long time.
