Rec/P1 March- April!

17th Apr 2025

We have had a very busy March and April celebrating Pancake Tuesday, Lent, World Book Day, St Patrick's Day and Mother's Day!

In Numeracy we have been busy exploring the concept of addition and subtraction, we have hard worked on our Number work and sequencing key times of our day. In Literacy we are continuing learning our new sounds each week and have been working hard to build words and sentences using our sound knowledge. Reception have been very busy using both fine and gross motor skills using a range of tools.

In WAU we have been learning about Where we live, making observations on buildings, recognising features of our local area and examining  a range of different houses and materials used to build them. We worked hard on creating models of our own home!

We have loved both our outdoor and indoor play making Easter buns, cakes and juices in the mud kitchen and have worked hard on our co ordination and balance using our trikes, scooters, stepping stones and a range of play equipment.

Our outdoor lessons continued with our friends from Mrs Mackey's class for our Shared Education Programme. We have hunted for numbers, colours and teddies in St Teresa's and explored shape in Mountnorris searching for shapes and making shapes with natural materials. We have loved making new friends with Mrs Mackey's class!

We have used Just2easy to create graphs on fruits and have created beautiful artwork throughout March and April. Have a look at March and April highlights!

Happy Easter from Mrs Duffy's Rec/ P1!
