The Big School Birdwatch 2025

29th Jan 2025

Last week, pupils from Reception to Primary 7 took part in The Big School Birdwatch 2025, and it was an exciting and educational experience for everyone! The students spent time outdoors, recording the various bird species they spotted around our school grounds. We were lucky to observe a wide range of birds, including House Sparrows, Robins, Pied Wagtails, Pigeons, Gulls, Blackbirds, and Magpies!

As part of our ongoing involvement in the Eco-Schools Programme, we’ve worked hard to create a bird-friendly environment. Our students have built bird boxes and bird tables, which help provide food and shelter for the birds, especially during the cold winter months. We've also planted hedges that offer great nesting spots for local wildlife.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to connect with nature, and we’re excited to continue supporting our feathered friends throughout the year!
