Creative Literacy Workshop with children’s author Declan Carville
The EA AmmA Creative Learning Team invited our Primary 5, 6 and 7 pupils to participate in a Creative Literacy Workshop with children’s author Declan Carville on Tuesday 7th May.
This was an exclusive and unique opportunity for our Key Stage 2 pupils, they participating in fun creative writing activities “hands-on” with the famous children’s author, Declan Carville.
Our pupils really enjoyed and participated extremely well in all the activities which included reading and discussing one of Declan’s popular Books, “Nelly Fandango”, discussing the topic of “Transition”, planning and writing a story on “Transition” and creating an animated character for their story.
This was an exciting and enriching opportunity for our children, as the workshop not only focused on developing our pupils Creative Writing Skills, it also supported our Primary 7 pupils through their Transition to post-primary school in the coming months.
I would like to thank children’s author, Declan Carville, for visiting St. Teresa’s, Tullyherron and for facilitating this wonderful Creative Literacy Workshop and the EA AmmA Creative Learning Team for providing this fantastic opportunity to our pupils.
